History

ViCyber history

The evolution of the ViCyber team, season by season.

How we evolved over time

Each season built on the experience of the previous one: optimized processes, wiser decisions, and continuously growing technical capacity.

2025-2026

Regional award and better-structured documentation

In the 2025-2026 season, ViCyber earned the Control Award at the regional stage, a result that highlighted the team's progress in robot control, match stability, and the integration between software and hardware.

At the same time, the team prepared clearer and more detailed technical documentation, reflected in the 2025-2026 technical notebook and portfolio, materials that present the design process, testing, and the project's impact.

2024-2025

Expanding activity and presence in the community

The 2024-2025 season combined competition participation with an extended outreach program: the ViCyber Echoes workshops for middle-school students, presentations in high schools, and representing the team at conferences such as DefCamp and Future Talks.

The team demonstrated the capacity to manage both competition activity and community impact initiatives at the same time, strengthening its role as an active actor in the Romanian educational ecosystem.

2023-2024

Consolidating the technical process

The second season marked the maturation of collaboration between departments, with significant improvements in hardware design, software development, and the coordination of robot testing.

The team moved from experimentation to a structured cycle of design, build, and validation, reflected in the quality of the implemented technical solutions.

2022-2023

Launching the team and the first FTC competitions

The ViCyber team was founded within Colegiul Național de Informatică "Tudor Vianu" and made its FTC debut by taking part in its first qualification tournaments and invitationals.

The first season represented the operational foundation of the team: structuring departments, establishing the internal workflow, and building the first competitive experiences.
